Greg and Chef Micheal at Rock Lake -- 4/8
I finally made good on my promise to take Chef Micheal fishing. We chose to go some place close to Spokane, so we hit Rock Lake. We caught 15 browns and rainbows pitching crankbaits, trolling spinners and casting jigs. The best action was in the morning casting various lures toward the shallow sloping banks. As the clouds scattered in the afternoon, the fish went deeper. We focused our efforts on suspended fish around 20 feet in depths of 25-30 feet. We pulling spinners and night crawlers. We kept 7 brown trout from 15-21 inches. Chef Micheal claimed that the trout he made for dinner last night were the best tasting trout he ever had. I have to agree with him. The browns out of Rock Lake are delicious!
