Jim and Greg at Rufus Woods 9/24

Jim and I arrived at Seaton's Grove launch on Rufus Woods around 1130 AM. We fished the channel edges near the Island about 2 miles downstream of the boat launch. We boated 5 walleyes and a trout in 2 hours including Jim's 7lb 7oz monster. Releases from Grand Coulee Dam decreased significantly around 2 PM and the bite completely died. From 2 PM to 6 PM, we had a couple short strikes, but no hook-ups. At sunset, we picked up 3 rainbows and a walleye. We ended the day with 6 walleyes (17"-21") and 4 trout.

All walleyes were caught on the edge of the channel pulling 2 oz bottom bouncers in about 40 feet. Indiana or Colorado blades caught all of our fish. Smile blades did not get bit. Big spinner blades seem to work best in the fall. Lime green blades caught most of the walleye. Jim's big fish came on a HUGE spinner with giant beads. The rig and crawler was at least 12 inches long. Big Bait = Big Fish...in this instance.

Jim got this 7lb 7oz walleye pulling a huge spinner rig with giant beads.
