Greg, Lindsay and Grant: Porcupine Bay - 10/20
It was beautiful weather for late October! Sun in the morning, clouds in the afternoon, temperatures in the 60s, and light winds all day long. My 6 year old and 3 1/2 year old wanted to go fishing so we got to the lake around noon and fished until 6 PM. It took a couple stops to find the walleye. I was hoping to find fish early and get the kids involved, but it took over an hour to get the first bite. Good thing we brought the dvd player and Bugs Bunny. The cartoons gave Dad the opportunity to run around the lake and find some fish. Our best action was after 4 PM. Maybe we finally found fish that wanted to bite, or maybe the increasing clouds triggered the fish to feed. We ended the day with 10 small walleye (12-15 inches), a fat little bass, and a chunky trout.
