Allan and Greg: Snake River - 10/17-18

We had 4 guys in Allan's Lund on Saturday with Patrick and Eli joining us for the day. It was a slow start to the day with only 2 walleyes (one keeper) and a handful of perch in the live well by 3 PM. Patrick had to leave so we ran him back to the truck, and from 330 to 5 PM the bite really turned on. High clouds and a slight chop developed in the afternoon which seemed to trigger the bite. We ended the day with 8 walleyes (6 keepers), 8 medium sized perch,  10 smallmouth bass, and a pike minnow. Big fish was 12.45 pounds with a length of 31 inches and girth of 17 inches. Big fish was released. The other walleyes ranged from 16 to 23 inches. A cold front moved through overnight and brought breezy winds and clouds for Sunday. Perhaps it was the change in weather or the departure of Eli that changed our luck. Allan and I only managed 3 walleyes (16 in, 20 in, 21 in), a perch, and a pair of little smallmouth bass.
