Club Fish Day: Roosevelt - 8/28

Fishing was steady through the day for keeper sized walleyes along with quite a few throw backs. Boats met at Porcupine Bay in the morning and worked several places on the Arm. With the water level dropping about 8 feet since mid August, most walleyes were caught in deeper water. Fish that were relating to weed beds earlier in the month seemed to be on rocky structure like river channels, points, and humps. Concentrations of fish were hard to find so trolling night crawlers was the most effective way to cover water and maintain depth on steep edges.
