Greg: Roosevelt - 4/30/2024

My father-in-law from Illinois joined me on a trip to Roosevelt on a cool and breezy Wednesday. I had a morning appointment so we didn’t get to the lake until 1130am, but the late start didn’t hinder our fishing. We launched out of Porcupine Bay and worked our headed upstream. We had a great day catching over 20 nice sized walleyes and a couple small bass before we stopped fishing at 6pm. Walleyes averaged 16 to 18 inches. The fish we cleaned were males or jueveniles. The gusty northeast winds didn’t bother us above Porcupine Bay, but we did experience a couple of chilly light rain showers late in the afternoon. The water temperature was 50 degrees. Lake elevation was 1279 feet.
