KC and Greg: Roosevelt- 7/17/2026

KC and I had plans to fish for Kokanee at Lake CDA from KC’s new boat. The thick smoke over Spokane and CDA from the fires around Lyons Ferry and Kahlotus prompted us to change our plans. Air quality sensors were significantly cleaner west of town so we headed to Lake Roosevelt instead. Fishing was fantastic! Between 10am and 6pm, we got our 32 fish limit of 14 to 17 inch walleyes. Big fish was 20 inches. There was a pleasant 5 to 10 mph south wind with bright sunshine. Water elevation 1289ft (full pool) and water temp was in the upper 60s. Afternoon temp near 90. For as good as the fishing was, there were very few anglers on the water…maybe saw 5 all day. There were dozens of pleasure boaters.
