Greg: Roosevelt - 3/9
I moved around a lot to find fish on Lake Roosevelt. I didn't get my first bite until 2 PM. I did manage to catch 7 nice fish ranging from 15 inches to 21 inches. The fish I caught were 50 feet deep. The bright sunshine, light winds, and falling lake levels may have contributed to pushing the fish deep. The lake level was 1257 feet...and falling about a foot a day.
More info for club members: I launched at Ft Spokane at about 9 AM and went up the Arm. I dedicated over 3 hours to fishing a blade bait at the Indian Cemetery, A Frame, and the Island below Ft Spokane. I fished it deep. I fished it shallow. Not a bite. There were a half dozen boats fishing the flat at the Cemetery. I saw one fish caught and it was small.
I made a pass along the flats across from Seven Bays with my electronics. I didn't see much that I liked so moved to the beach between Lincoln and Sterling Point. I caught 7 fish between 2 PM and 630 PM in 50 feet. All fish were caught on a Smile Blade/Slow Death combo. Lime green and chartreuse smiles caught all of the fish. I also tried dragging jigs and blade baits along the beach with no success.
