Greg: Roosevelt - 9/10

A gentlemen from church joined me for a trip to Lake Roosevelt on Thursday. He had never fished for walleyes before. We traveled many river miles through the day to find the 14 walleyes that we kept. Fish ranged from 10 inchers (released) up to a 20 incher. At the end of the end of his first day of walleye fishing, my church friend exclaimed "this walleye fishing is much more technical than I am used to".

More info for club members: My last couple trips to the Spokane Arm yielded small fish, so I was hoping to find some bigger walleyes on the main lake. We launched at Ft Spokane around 830AM. We fished deep points and humps across from Seven Bays which yielded a 15 inch walleye a trout and several bites. Next we motored up to Nayborly. We quickly picked up a 20 inch walleye in 70 feet of water, but nothing else is 90 minutes of fishing. After lunch, we made the long run to Blue Creek. In less than 2 hours of fishing, we caught 12 keepers in 35 to 45 feet of water pulling smile blades and slow death hooks behind a 2 ounce bouncer. Of course the Blue Creek fish were mainly dinks (12-14 inches).
