Travis and Greg: Snake River - 10-19
We were on the water by 845 AM and fished until 330 PM. Fishing continues to be tough on the Snake River. The day started great with 2 walleyes within the first 20 minutes. Unfortunately, we only got one more walleye for the rest of the day for a total of 3 walleyes in the 16 to 19 inch range. Our goal was to catch and release a few big walleyes…didn’t happen. The weather was great and fishing with friends is always worth the trip.
More info for club members: Nobody else at the Texas Rapids campground seemed to be catching much. Our walleyes were caught on size 11 Flicker Minnows trolling upstream within a mile of Little Goose Dam. We tried several different colors and the fish didn’t seem to prefer one color over the other. Depth was 20 to 30 feet. Patrick arrived in the afternoon and fished the next day. He had no luck catching walleyes.
