Kettle Falls Picnic: June 14-18
Fishing was generally good during the June Picnic. Folks found small walleyes above China Bend on Thursday and Friday. With rising water levels, it seems as though the bigger fish that were around the Little Dalles a couple of weeks ago have moved. A few small walleyes (13 to 15 inches) were caught near the mouth of the Colville River, but fishing there was pretty slow. Probably the best combination of numbers and size was in the Evans and Marcus areas. Walleyes in the 15 to 17 inch range were typical. Catches of 12 to 20 walleyes were common pulling bottom bouncers in 25 to 35 feet of water.
