Allan and Greg: Roosevelt - 3/25
We launched at Ft Spokane around 930 am and headed up the Spokane Arm. We fished several spots until about 430 pm. We only managed to catch 6 walleyes between 12 and 15 inches. Allan’s Humminbird measured the water temperature between 40 and 42 degrees. This was Allan’s 4th trip to Roosevelt in the last 10 days. He claimed that the water temp was in the mid to upper 30s a week ago with ice near the launch first thing in the morning.
More info for club members: Our first stop was Buoy 1 where Allan had some success several days prior to this trip. We had a few bites, but only managed to catch one 12 incher in a couple of hours. Three other boats stopped to fish Buoy 1 while we were there, and they all left without a fish. We tried “The Weeping Wall” and “The Steps” without any bites. Our best success was at Blue Creek where we caught 5 walleyes in depths between 20 and 50 feet slow trolling Smile Blades behind 2 ounce bottom bouncers. Chartreuse was the only color that produced any bites the entire day. Water clarity was decent at Blue Creek (about 3 feet), but it was a foot or less further up the Arm.
