Allan, Greg and Patrick: Idaho Ice Fishing - 2/8-11

We fished Lake Cascade last February and made the trip back this year. The perch in this lake have become legendary. We met several people that traveled from Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Canada to catch a 2 pound plus perch. We fished with Bill’s Guide Service on Sat and Sun, and then rented a snowmobile and fished on our own Mon and Tue. The weather was windy and snowy on our first day, but the fishing was good. We caught 20 keepers and released several more. The remaining days on Cascade were sunny with light winds. Conditions were relatively comfortable with morning temps in the teens warming into the low 30s in the afternoon. The bright skies made for tough fishing. Sunday…5 keepers. Monday…6 keepers. Tuesday…9 keepers.
