Kettle Falls Picnic Weekend - June 9-13

We had a break from the rain Saturday and Sunday for camping, fishing, and socializing at the picnic. Thursday, Friday evening, and Monday were rainy. The lake level was 1268 ft on Thursday and rose to 1276 ft by Monday. There was a lot of debris in the lake and some of it was tough to see. Our club experienced 2 damaged props and a pair of broken transducers over the weekend. Fishing was spotty. While some members struggled to find walleyes, others experienced very good fishing.

More information for club members: The bite was all about finding sweet spots where slack water met fast current. These areas fluctuated throughout the weekend and even changed by the hour in places. Allan and Vince caught a pair of limits on Sunday slow trolling bouncers at the Little Dalles. Greg and Allan kept 20 walleyes at China Bend on Friday fishing jigs and blade baits. Greg, Dave, and Hunter had a 10 fish morning at Marcus on Saturday and returned Sunday and got 18 keepers. John, Shirley, and Doug S got 9 keepers near Evans on Sunday. Mike O got 8 on Friday fishing Bradberry Beach.

Vince released this 25 incher that weighed 5lb 5oz.

Allan was surprised by this good sized bass.
