Greg and Mike: Roosevelt - 9/11/2023

My friend Mike from Kansas City was in town for 3 days and enjoys the fishing of the Pacific Northwest. He got to town late Sunday night, so we didn’t start our fishing on Monday very early. It was noon before we had lines in the water. At 2 pm, we had 6 walleyes in the livewell and grilled 4 of them for a shore lunch. We fished until 7pm and ended the day catching 15 walleyes ranging from 14 inches to 21 inches. The weather was great! North winds between 5 and 10 mph early in the afternoon became calm by 2pm.

More info for club members: We caught 6 walleyes on the upper end of Outhouse Flats trolling smile blades with a double hook harness behind 3 ounce bouncers. Fish were in 40 to 50 feet near the drop in to the deep channel. After our shore lunch, we went to Nayborly and fished similar depths adjacent to the deep basin like submerged points and humps. Metallic colors produced the best like Silver Sparkle and Gold.
