Greg: Roosevelt - 4/20/23

After hanging out with my family in the morning on Friday, I decided to make a run out to Lake Roosevelt to see if the walleye fishing had improved since last week. I didn’t get on the water until noon or later. The day started out well. The sun was shining, there was a light chop on the main lake, and I caught 8 walleyes (4 keepers) on my first trolling pass. Things took a turn for the worse when I decided to move to the next spot, and my cranking motor was dead. With my trolling motor, I made it about a mile before the rain and wind started. Luckily, I was able to flag a fellow boater down and was towed back to Seven Bays. The water temperature was 44 degrees with good water clarity on the main lake. Water level was 1242 feet, so Seven Bays was the best and probably only option for launching in that part of the reservoir.
