George and Allan at Tri Cities: 1/25-26
There were over 15 boats fishing the Columbia River near the Tri Cities over the weekend. Tournament anglers and fishermen from several Washington walleye clubs fished Saturday and Sunday (a few continued into Monday). George and Allan fished out of separate boats Saturday and Sunday, and neither caught any fish over the weekend. Fishing was extremely slow. Of the entire group (George said 40 anglers), there were 2 fish caught on Saturday.
Looking through the discussion on the Northwest Walleye forum, one boat had good success on Sunday landing a pair of 10lb fish and one monster exceeding 16lbs. Fish are few and far between, but there is the potential for a real monster.
