Greg and Bob: Roosevelt - 3/31/21
We launched out of Porcupine Bay around 9 AM. Only one lane of the boat launch is available. The Bureau of Reclamation is using the other lanes to load fill material to repair shore erosion upriver. Be prepared to wait in line at the launch and it can be a tight squeeze backing the trailer into the water. https://www.nps.gov/laro/planyourvisit/conditions.htm
The bite was slow. We landed 6 nice sized keepers by early afternoon ranging from 15 to 19 inches. We tried a few spots between 2 PM and 5 PM and managed to catch another 2 or 3 walleyes, but they were pretty small. The weather was beautiful with sunny skies, light wind, and afternoon temps in the low 60s. The water temperature in the Spokane Arm was 45 degrees. Water clarity was 4 or 5 feet.
