Allan, Kendall, Greg: Roosevelt - 5/31-6/1
Allan and Kendall spent 10 to 12 days at Northport fishing the upper end of Lake Roosevelt. They averaged 7 to 10 walleyes per day in the 16 to 21 inch range. I joined them for their last 2 days of fishing. Some years, the walleye bite is lights out in this area around Memorial Day, but not this year. The fishing was fun, but it was work to get bites. With the high water levels this spring, the walleyes blasted through places like China Bend and the Little Dalles which are usually post-spawn stops on their way up river. The water temperature was 54 degrees. Males were still milting. Females had dropped their eggs.
