Tri Cities Columbia

Somewhere around the full moon last week the walleye in the Columbia/lake willful took off on spring break looking for more amorous pursuits and after a week of searching in heavy, murky, dirty high water flow I think it's time for thinking of other pursuits. The springers are just now beginning to climb the ladders at Bonneville dam - water below the dam is apparently as bad there as it is here, which seems to have held the run up for a few extra days.

Looks like about 2-3 weeks and things should start to heat up down river - maybe we can get in a couple of weeks of good fishing before the scheduled May 9th closure up here - the Snake is still closed to springer fishing until/if the run really shows up in the anticipated numbers and maybe DFW will open it just enough to sell a lot of licenses – funny how that works.
