Paul: Potholes - 5/6-8

The fishing was excellent at Potholes. Ken and Sharon L. were there also, and we all limited out on nice fish on Tuesday afternoon.  I was there alone so called a friend in Kennewick and he came up Weds.  All four of us limited again. My friend stayed over to fish with me on Thurs, but Ken and Sharon went home. The wind blew and the rollers and whitecaps started Thurs. morning but took off for Crab creek again. It was touchy boat control, but had eight fish in the boat in 40 minutes. The first a twenty-incher.  Took a little more than an hour more to limit out. Fun ride in the Lund on the way back to the launch. Cleaned fish, loaded boat and broke camp and was on the way home at 11:20 am. Great three days fishing.  Lynn and I are going the 15th thru 17th and hope the fishing remains hot.

Try the mouth of crab creek in 12 to 16 feet of water. Also, up the channel almost to the power lines  to the weedy edges in 8 to 12 feet. I used a blue scale 1.5 smiley with a 6mm lite blue bead 1 red and another blue. Used on both rods with 1.5 oz bottom walker even in shallow areas. Varied speed from .8 to 1.2 mph depending on trolling depth and direction. Lind coulee is also good but fish run smaller. Many colors and sizes work. Ken did well on other setups. He checked with me and then downsized. Immediately started hooking up again. Many people were using Wally Pops and Wedding rings. I used my setup on both rods and never changed. Did not have too.

Hope you have Navionics mapping as Lakemaster does not cover Potholes or Banks lake. A lot of shallow areas at Potholes so mapping and highlighting these areas really helps.
