Lyle and Greg: Hunters - 9/26

We launched at Hunters around 830 AM and fished until 6 PM. The fishing was slow, especially in the morning. At lunch time, we had one walleye and one trout. During the afternoon, Lyle got into the groove and caught a walleye about every 45 minutes to an hour. He ended the day catching 6 walleyes between 15 and 17 inches. I got a the trout and missed several bites.

More Info: We started in Nayborly Cove fishing between 40 and 50 feet. Lyle got one fish on our first pass. We moved over to the hump across from Nayborly and drifted it several times (40-60 feet) with no bites. Next we tried the mouth of Willmont Creek between 35 feet and 70 feet...nothing. We returned to the hump across from Nayborly and fished it slower and deeper. The majority of the bites came in 60-65 feet of water near the drop into 100 feet.

Lyle caught his fish on a chrome and blue Indiana blade with multi-colored beads with a crawler behind a 2 ounce bouncer. I tried various colors including colors that worked several days before with little success. Trolling speed was less than 1 mph.
