Club Fish Day: Texas Rapids - 10/4

Spokane Walleye Club had 10 rigs at Texas Rapids for the Club Fish Day with the Tri-Cities Club. The Tri-Cities was represented by 3 to 5 boats. The weather on the Snake River was perfect and the fishing was decent. Several large fish were caught. The big fish of the day was 9 pounds caught first thing in the morning by a Tri-Cities angler. Allan landed a 5 pound fish before 10 AM. Doug N also caught a 5 pound fish in the morning. Several club members camped from Thursday through the weekend. Boats caught a mixed bag of walleye (big and small), smallmouth bass, catfish, perch, bluegill, and pike minnow.

More info: Many club anglers pulled spinners/crawlers and bottom bouncers between Little Goose Dam and areas below the fish hatchery near the mouth of the Palouse. Spinners rigs probably caught more fish including smallmouth, catfish and perch. The crankbait bite near the dam was productive Saturday morning. Deep diving Rapalas trolled in 20 to 25 feet of water between 2 and 2.2 mph produced several quality fish including Allan's 5 pounder.

Allan caught this 23.5 inch walleye on a crankbait. This fish weighed 5 pounds.
