Ken and Sharon: Potholes - 9/4

On Friday, 9-4, Sharron and I fished the Potholes. I was surprised the water was down 10 or 15 ft. The only public boat ramp useable is the one at the dam.  We got on the water about 8am.  I've been wanting to fish crank baits so we started pulling in 10 ft. of water, N/B up medicare beach.  After a mile or so we had one smallmouth, and I thought it might be the wrong time ofday for that technique so we headed to Crab Creek. We fished that general area and found a hot spot just west of creek mouth. In the next 4 hrs.we caught 12 wallys in 4 to 10 ft. of water. We were pulling bottom bouncers.  The water clarity was poor so we both used chartreuse and stayed with it.  When the fished slowed I decided to go pull cranks S/B down medicare beach on the way back to the boat ramp.  We picked 3 nice small mouth, the biggest 4 lbs. we also picked up two more walleye. Crank was purple and silver.
