Jim K: Roosevelt - 9/11

I camped for a quick overnight trip to Ft. Spokane Campground Saturday night.  Only fished for about two hours on Sunday AM (Sept 11).  Neighbor in campground had caught limits of walleye for last three days in 15-20’ in arm between Blue Creek and Ft. Spokane.  I easily found & graphed walleye on numerous locations between same areas.  I specifically fished humps just upstream of Ft. Spokane CG, and the very edge of the drop on the flats by Blue Creek.  Again… I consistently had sonar marks in these areas.  Fished both crawdad colored jigging raps and trolled green and silver smile blades. Had equal success with both.  Only caught two walleye (both 17”), but had many more bites.  I did spend much of my time helping out a first time fisherman in my boat.  There were several boats on the South shore across from the mouth of Blue Creek.  I also witnessed what must be major schools of kokanee in 100’ that stretched for a few miles upstream from Ft. Spokane.  Noted that we had crawfish spit up in my live well at the end of the day.  With stable weather pattern I predict good fishing for the campout this weekend!
