Greg K and Brad T: Roosevelt - 5/29

Brad and I had a 60+ fish day on Roosevelt. Most of the walleyes that we caught were 15 to 16 inches long, but we did get several 17s, an 18, and a fat 19 incher. The weather was beautiful with a high in the low 70s and light winds. Lake elevation was 1262 feet, and the water temp was 61 degrees.

More info for club members: We launched out of Ft Spokane and motored past Porcupine Bay about 4 miles to the Buoy 1 area. We saw a few floating logs, but there was a lot less floating debris than I expected. We caught walleyes every spot we tried, but the largest concentration of walleyes was between the Weeping Wall and Buoy 1. Current seams and back eddies held the most walleyes. Chrome smile blades were the most effective, but other colors produced bites too. Blade baits were also effective.

These fish went straight from Brad's hook to the grill. Can you call it a shore lunch if you grill and eat it on the boat?
