Doug N: Roosevelt - 5/27
Went out of Porcupine on 5/27. Launched at 1000hrs, Launch ramps were now level, and parking lot 1/2 full. Went up past marker #7 into the skinny water. Not worth the time as current was moving at over 6 mph. Found one big rainbow in some slack water off to the side. Worked the area between #7 and #5 with two other boats, had one walleye "short bite", didn't see anyone else catch a fish. Tried the area from "weeping walls" to marker #1, caught two "throwbacks". All other boats had abandoned the area, got lonely, left. Started working "the narrows" and finally started getting a consistent bite, although all small. Caught maybe 15 fish, kept 5 for take home. Weather beautiful, great day, but Wally Walleye does not like "fill the lake time".
