Jim K: Potholes - 5/5

There were about 30 rigs at Lind Coulee ramp, probably the same at Mardon, and again that many the ramp just on point just West of Mardon Resort.  We put in at the State Park.  There were only 6 rigs there. Today my family and I ended up going to Potholes Reservoir and heading as far back into the sand dunes that I could make it.  My goal was to try to find the warmest water that I could.  Found 69 degrees at the highest.  It was 62 in main lake.  We found LMB on the beds way back there and ended up throwing 4” white senkos into the sparser willows.  Where there was a cleaner sand bottom that was still flat, but next to deeper is where we found the bass.  Ended up only catching two, but Seth had a great time irking one on his bed for 30 minutes or so.  We didn’t leave home until 10:40AM, so by the time we got to the lake, made our way back there, had lunch on a beach, hiked a bit we didn’t really start fishing until 3:30 or so, so we didn’t have much time with them once we found them.  Didn’t talk to any other fisherman who were going after the walleyes.
