Club Fish Day: Snake River - Texas Rapids 10/1-2
We had beautiful weather and a good turn out for fishing on the Snake River over the first weekend of October. The wind was light with plenty of sunshine and afternoon temperatures around 80 degrees. Fishing was generally slow on Saturday with boats reporting the best bite toward the evening. Allan and Doug got the biggest walleye of the day which was around 8 pounds (released). Fordyce and Greg had a good bite an hour before sunrise catching 5 keepers in 30 minutes casting blade baits. Bob and his grandson also experienced a good blade bait bite around sunset on Saturday.
On Sunday, Allan and Doug headed well down river and had good success for keeper sized walleyes trolling spinners on rocky points. They ended up putting 13 walleyes in the boat and keeping 9. They also caught several decent sized perch. Other club boats caught a few keepers, but we didn’t hear of any big ones.
