Tina H. and Mike O: Columbia River - Mar 30

Tina and I fished with a guide Captain Jake Cook out of the Tri-cities, WA. We pulled Flicker Minnows and Bandit lures upstream in 15-20 feet of water. Cpt. Jake piloted the boat so that we straddled the weed line. Tina was on the right side of the boat and trolling along the tops of the weeds. She boated three beautiful walleyes. The first one was a 26-1/2” football shaped female that was caught and released. The second one was a 30” female full of eggs which we practiced CPR (Catch Picture Release) on. The third one she caught was  a 29-7/8” spawned out female. The guide told her she could tell everyone it was 30 inches as she was a true fisherman now and that she needed a good “fish story”! I also caught 3 walleye <10”, about 12-14” and a 21”. We only estimated my fish lengths for obvious reasons. Captain Jake Cook was an excellent guide and he also oriented me to some other spots on Lake Wallula.
