Greg and Ken: Snake River - 7/28/2025
We had a fantastic day on the Snake River. It was a great day for numbers as well as a handful of big fish. We launched around 8 am at the bottom end of Lake Herbert G West south of Kahlotus WA. Our day of fishing ended at 2 pm when the temperature reached the mid 90s and the morning breeze died. We cleaned 25 walleyes and released several small and over-sized walleyes. Ken caught the biggest fish at 25 inches. We had several others in the 20 to 23 inch range. Bass and yellow perch were frequent “bycatch”. We each got an 8 pound catfish, too.
More info for club members: Bottom bouncers were effective trolled in 25 to 30 feet on mid-lake humps and along slow tapering shorelines. Chartruese, lime green, and motor oil Smile Blades were the most productive colors. Two ounce bottom bouncers were sufficient on slow tapering shorelines, but 3 ounces were needed on sharper breaks. We used over 4 dozen crawlers in less than 6 hours.
