Greg and Lindsay: Roosevelt - 7/25/2025
Lindsay and her friends enjoyed a boat day on Roosevelt. Most of our time was spent swimming, tubing and learning how to water ski, but the girls all wanted to catch some fish before we went home. Around 7 pm we pulled up to a “July spot” that has been good in the past. The spot did not disappoint. By 830 pm Lindsay and here friends had put 10 walleyes, 6 bass, and a rainbow trout in the boat. The walleyes were small…mainly 10 to 12 inches, but it didn’t matter to the three 14 year old girls. It was a great way to end our day at the lake.
More info for club members: The weed bed at the bottom (downstream) end of The Narrows has been a great spot to take kids over the years. This spot only produces when the lake is near full pool in summer. Makayla had never caught a walleye before, but she got 7 of the 10 we put in the boat. She selected a motor oil colored Smile Blade with a chartreuse pill float and Slow Death Hook. The chartreuse Smile Blade and gold Smile Blade produced fish for Averie and Lindsay, but Makayla put on a clinic. We were in 18 to 25 feet of water on the outside of scattered weeds.
