Lyle, Larry and Greg: Roosevelt - 5/30

We headed up to Northport for the Club Fish Day. We made the run down river. We had never used this launch before. The current was swift with lots of eddies, but no problems. Fishing was very good. We caught 35-40 walleyes. They were larger than the fish in the Spokane Arm...averaging 17-18 inches. Lyle caught the largest fish which was a skinny, spawned-out female around 22 inches.  Sam G was camped at Northport with some of his buddies. He had good success fishing as well.

More info for club members: The lake level was near 1250 feet. Fish in the Little Dalles area were in 14 to 45 feet of water. We caught fish pulling bottom bouncers with a variety of Smile Blades and spinners. Vertical jigging blade baits, 3/8 ounce jigs, and pulling deep diving crank baits all produced fish. Most of our fish came out of the big eddy below the bottleneck in the river, but we also fished some current seams just below the Little Dalles with success.
