Greg and Kids: Ft Spokane - 4-/8-9
Grant (7yrs), Lindsay (5yrs), and I met Allan at Ft Spokane Friday evening for a short camping trip. After playing at the playground and throwing rocks into the lake, we launched the boat and fished from 430 pm to 6 pm. We caught 5 walleyes before receiving a text message that Allan had arrived. We all enjoyed the camp fire and beautiful evening. The next morning, Allan joined us, and we fished from 930 am to 12 pm. We caught another 5 walleyes. The walleyes were smaller than they were a week ago...12 to 16 inches. The kids loved the experience of camping in an RV instead of Dad's dirty old tent.
More info for club members: We didn't spend a lot of time on the water Friday evening or Saturday morning, so we didn't put a pattern together. We concentrated on the flat across from Deer Meadows where club members had success the week prior. Once again, the fish we caught were in 60 to 75 feet of water. We slow trolled (0.7-1.0 mph) heavy bottom bouncers with silver and gold smile blades. Compared to last week, there were fewer boats fishing the main lake.
