Travis: Snake River - 6/29

I fished the Snake again yesterday for the 3rd time within 8 days.  The day overall, wasn't that productive, as we only pulled four walleyes for the whole half-day that we were down there.  However, as is always the case, you can end up with a big one, and I did.

We pulled two eaters and I pulled two worthy of release.  I pulled a 24 and this 11.7 pound 32" Sow!!  This registers as my overall second best walleye ever.   The Snake has been good to me lately, giving me a 9.45 and an 11.7 pound walleye within the same week!

This one came out from in front of the Grainery in 20 foot of water, trolling the #213 Custom Bandit by Wicked Custom Lures & Jigs. Trolling speed was 1.3 mph as my Minnekota was kind of tired by that point and trolling with the outboard and buckets might have been a bit too rowdy in those shallower depths.

The sky was clear with a few clouds and microbursts right at dark.  Temp was 85 for most of the afternoon.

The flow out of Little Goose has slowed a bit now, making it possible to fish up near the dam and we did pick up one eater up there.  Everything else came off of the Grainery.

11.7 pounds. Released.

11.7 pounds. Released.

What is prettier? The walleye or the sunset?
