Greg and Allan: Roosevelt - 9/19/2024

Allan joined me at Lake Roosevelt for Day 2. We didn’t get on the water until almost noon and we fished until 6 pm. The Spokane Arm was slow. We got 4 keepers ranging from 14 to 17 inches and tossed back 6 or 8 walleyes that were only about 10 inches. We tried a lot of spots and marked very few fish. The main lake appears to be fishing better than the Arm at this time. The weather was great, and we enjoyed a grilled fish dinner on the boat before sunset. Fish tacos!!!

More info for club members: The only productive spot we found was in 50 to 60 feet of water across the lake from Porcupine Bay. We got 2 keepers at noon when we first started fishing. Allan caught his on a chartreuse custom bait that Travis made. I got my walleye on a dark green swim jig tipped with a crawler. We returned to the same spot at 530 pm to get a couple more keepers pulling spinners. Allan got them with an orange smile blade. The walleyes puked up at least a dozen orange crawdads in my livewell. Buoy 7 was a bust. The canyon above Buoy 7 gave us a half dozen 10 inch walleyes. Above Buoy 3 was a bust.

Grill up some tacos, and Allan will go fishing with you every time!

Walleye marinaded in lime juice, garlic, cumin and olive oil. Shredded cabbage, mango, salsa, and a sour cream and Sriracha sauce.

No, Allan! Let’s grill the fish before making tacos.

Small walleye and taco shell were released.
